First and foremost, it is important to define what an eco-friendly wardrobe is. In our concept, a wardrobe (or shoe closet) is a wardrobe that consists of as few items as possible, yet can be combined with each other in a great way. As for individual garments, they should of course be as natural and recyclable as possible.

So how do you get started with an eco-friendly wardrobe? First, you need to be clear about what colors you want in your wardrobe and what colors you don\’t. You can follow your intuition and choose according to the colors you find most attractive and appealing, or you can test whether you are a spring, summer, fall, or winter type and adjust your wardrobe color scheme accordingly. Ideally, however, you should have a few “basic” colors in your wardrobe, such as black, gray, white, brown, and beige, and supplement the “basic” colors with other colors that match.

It is also helpful to be clear about your style. It does not have to be clear, but you should at least have a general idea of what you want to express with your clothing. By being clear about your style, you will have a better idea of what to look for when shopping, what fits your wardrobe, and how it will work with other items.

To make your wardrobe as eco-friendly as possible, natural fibers are recommended. Cotton, linen, and hemp are examples. Wool, llama wool, alpaca wool, and cashmere are also natural fabrics, but these materials require animal products for production and may not be suitable for vegetarians, for example.
